Now, Hyderabad boasts of AC toilet

Hyderabad: For those of you who had given up hope of a good public toilet in the city, the GHMC has now made it possible for you to enjoy the cool comforts of an air-conditioned public toilet, all for Rs 5. The toilet is located at Aramghar in Rajendrangar.This swanky toilet was inaugurated on Tuesday by Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K T Rama Rao.Rao along with Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and other leaders and officials also inaugurated several developmental programmes in the Old City.


KTR assured the AIMIM president that the Musi River Front Corporation was being constituted to complete the cleaning up of river within a year. He said that the Charminar pedestrianisation project would be expedited.Speaking to media persons, KTR made several announcements for the Old City. He said double bedroom houses for the weaker sections of Chandrayangutta, Charminar, Yakutpura and Bahadurpura constituencies at 10-12 acres of police land at Falaknuma.He also sanctioned Rs 27 crore for construction of new rail over bridge at Falaknuma. He assured that the State government would develop Old City on par with the new city.


The slew of announcements included renovation of Chowk-e-Murghan and Clock Tower at a cost of Rs 5 crore. He also cleared GHMC’s proposal forthe restoration and beautification of Char Kaman at a cost of Rs 1.75 crore.He said that a meeting would be convened with Hyderabad MP and senior officials to discuss measures to resolve problems of sewerage, power and drinking water in the Old City.He later inaugurated Goutham Nagar Community Hall in Jubilee Hills, one of the city's biggest sports complex at Moghalpura, TSRTC bus depot Farooq Nagar, Chintalkunta Park (Attapur) and Model Market (Rajendranagar).The GHMC has decided to construct 16 community halls at an estimated cost of Rs 26 crore in the next three months. He said that maintenance of community halls would handed over to women who were in slum level federations and others.
