Man Arrested For Selling Cattle To Slaughter Houses

A man belongs to Uttar Pradesh was arrested for allegedly involved in cattle theft,  on Sunday, when he came to meet his associates during mulaqat at the Sangareddy prison near here. The suspect identified as Mohd Asif, 38, was stealing cattle kept in sheds in Yadadri.Asif’s six associates, all belonging to UP, were earlier arrested for cattle theft by the Toopran police in Medak district, and lodged at the Sangareddy prison. Bhongir police received a tip-off that Asif was planning to meet the suspects during mulaqat, and arrested him when he turned up. 


DCP, Yadadri, E. Ramachandra Reddy said Asif owned a container lorry and had employed one Ameer Khan as the driver. In March, Ameer along with the other suspects asked Asif to allow them to deal with the stolen cattle, and offered to double his share.


As per the plan, Asif and Ameer travelled to Hyderabad and met cattle vendors Mansur and Ismail Qureshi and sought their help in selling stolen cattle to slaughter houses. After striking a deal with them, they stole cattle in Jangaon, Medak and Yadadri districts.


At Anajipur village, the suspects stole 26 animals from cattle sheds located amidst fields. Before that, they had stolen cattle from slaughter houses at Chengicherla with the help of Mansoor and Ismail. The stolen animals were shifted Bihar and sold at a local market. They later stole cattle in Adilabad, Medak and Siddipet districts and transported the animals in the container lorry owned by Asif.
