Osmania varsity to hold centenary seminar on April 26

Hyderabad : The Osmania University as part of the centenary celebrations is organising a seminar on Role of Osmania University in Telangana and nation-building on the first day of the inaugural session.


Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Education Kadiyam Srihari will inaugurate the seminar. Dr K Keshava Rao, Member of Parliament will preside over the seminar.


Eminent alumni and associates of Osmania University, who made a profound impact on Telangana state and the nation, are being invited to take part in this seminar and address the faculty, research scholars, students and invitees.


Seminar is scheduled on April 26 at Tagore auditorium, Osmania University campus, from 2:30 pm to 6 pm. Former Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy will speak on OU in leadership. Dr K V Ramanachary, Advisor Culture, Government of Telangana, will speak on OU in Culture and


values .


The other speakers and their topics include: Prof Mohd. Suleman Siddiqui, former Vice Chancellor, OU, on Osmania University: The logical Transition, Prof K Nageshwar, Editor, The Hans India  on Universities in Reinventing Telangana, Dr S Chandra Sekhar, Director, IICT on OU in Research and Development, Prof G Chakrapani, Chairman, Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) on OU in public employment, Prof T Tirupathi Rao, former Vice Chancellor, on Prism of Osmania: Retrospect and Prospect, Dr M S N Reddy , Chairman, MSN Labs on Role of OU in Entrepreneurship and Dr R S Praveen Kumar, secretary of the Telangana Residential Educational Society on Role of Universities in Social Welfare. 


Prof G B Reddy and Prof Sumita Roy are the conveners of the seminar.
