Burglers strike into house to decamp Rs 5 lakh worth gold

Hyderabad: Unidentified suspects broke into a house, while the inmates were sleeping and decamped with huge quantity of gold jewellery, silver articles and cash all worth around Rs 5 lakh in Medchal in the early hours of Sunday. According to the police, Narender Singh, a milk trader is residing at Konaipalli village under Medchal Police station limits. On Saturday night, he slept in one room, while his mother Tulja Bai slept in the other room.

Around 4.30 am on Sunday, when Narender woke up to milk cows, he could not open his room door and noticed that it was latched from outside. He immediately called his younger brother Surender Singh who lives in the first floor. Surender Singh rushed down and found that the main door lock was broken.  Upon searching the house, he found that the almirah in their mother’s room was open.

They later found that the gold jewellery and cash in the almirah and silver articles in the house were stolen. Police said that the suspects had gained entry into the house by breaking open the main lock and decamped with 13.5 tolas of gold, One Kilo silver articles and cash upto Rs 1.32 lakh. A night house burglary case is registered and the probe is begun.
